Dear Parents,

We hope this message finds you and your family happy and healthy. We have missed you and our little learners so much during these past few months! We are anxious to have them back in our classrooms and to learn and grow with them!

As you can imagine, COVID-19 has brought a lot of changes — both to our community and to our Early Learning Center. However, one thing has not changed — that is that the health and safety of our students and teachers continues to be our number one priority. 

Our teachers and staff are working tirelessly to create a safe and clean learning environment for all of our students during this time of COVID. Some of the changes that will be implemented include:

• Heightened sanitation procedures, including personal protection equipment and training for all ELC teachers and staff
• Removal of all soft toys, dramatic play costumes, and any items that cannot be easily sanitized from classroom
• Increased focus on proper handwashing and social distancing of students, whenever possible
• Reduced classroom enrollment in alignment with State requirements 
• Daily temperature screenings for each child
• The development of a distance-learning curriculum in the event of a resurgence in COVID cases.

We greatly appreciate your patience, as many of these changes are in the process of being finalized. 

We hope to be able to reopen the Early Learning Center sometime in August. We ask that all ELC parents email torria.baker@unitedcommunity.org as soon as possible to let us know whether or not your child will attend the ELC in the fall.
